When we opened January 1st 2020 our goal was to have a Grand Opening BBQ Bash that we could do annually but that world was shut down for a while so we're making up for lost time with our Inaugural BBQ Bash, Saturday March 9th, 2024!

What is Bourbon Classic?

Bourbon Classic, a premier Bourbon event, is the holy trinity for experiencing the very best in the culinary, cocktail and Bourbon arts through a collection of rare, interactive events. Infused with exceptional tastings, workshops and unrivaled sips, these events are sure to thrill any Bourbon connoisseur and enthusiast.

Our signature events include Cocktail & Culinary Challenge, featuring cocktails and small plates from notable chefs and bartenders, Bourbon University educational sessions and TASTE a one-of-a-kind opportunity to sample a variety of different Bourbons, meet renowned master distillers and enjoy delicious dishes from our featured restaurants.

Since launching in 2013, this event quickly arose to become a consumer darling. Bourbon Classic was bestowed with the distinct honor of making Travel & Leisure’s “7 Best Cocktail Festivals Around the Country” list as well as a write up in USA Today featuring annual cocktail competitions across the country. This event is really the Bourbon experience of a lifetime.

Tropical Smokehouse is teaming up with BBQ maestros Andy Munoz (Moo's Craft Barbecue), Bryan Furman (Bryan Furman BBQ), Carey Bringle (Peg Leg Porker), Charlie McKenna (Lillie’s Q), Hector Garate (Palmira Barbecue), Jeffrey Budnechky (Apocalypse BBQ), John Bates (InterStellar BBQ), Jordan Wright (Wright’s Barbecue), Kerry Bexley (Snow's BBQ), Raheem Sealey (Drinking Pig BBQ), and more!

This ain't your average BBQ event—it's a live-fire symphony showcasing some of the best pitmasters from across the nation. And guess what? Local pitmasters from the Sunshine State are throwing down too.

We're talking top-tier BBQ, where each bite is a journey through smoke and flavor. Surfer Blood is setting the stage with tunes, cocktails flowing, and the spotlight is on the smokey magic each pitmaster brings to the table. We're talking flavor explosions that'll make your taste buds do the two-step.

Houston BBQ Throwdown

The Houston Barbecue Festival and Saint Arnold Brewing Company announce the 7th annual Houston BBQ Throwdown! featuring 14 of Houston's best barbecue restaurants competing to create the next great barbecue dish that represents Houston-style barbecue.

Each ticket includes samples from each of the barbecue competition entries as well as Saint Arnold beer.

**To ensure the best possible experience for all guests, only a limited number of tickets will be made available for sale. Tickets sold out well in advance of the previous event - we encourage you to purchase tickets as soon as possible to ensure availability.**

**All tickets sold in advance online. No ticket sales at the door.**

Participating barbecue joints include (subject to change): Bar-A-BBQ, Brett's BBQ Shop, Chuckwagon BBQ & Burgers, Daddy Duncan's BBQ (People's Choice winner from 2022), Feges BBQ, Fire Craft BBQ, Harlem Road Texas BBQ, J-Bar-M Barbecue, La Cruda Brand BBQ, Mimsy's Craft Barbecue, Reveille BBQ, Rosemeyer Bar-B-Q, Tejas Chocolate + BBQ, and The Pit Room (Judge's Choice winner from 2022).

Much like Kansas City-style barbecue is associated with “burnt ends” and Memphis-style is known for pork ribs, Houston-style barbecue will become known for dishes that incorporate the many diverse culinary influences of this “creole” city.

A blind judging process featuring barbecue experts from around Texas will pick a single winner from the entries. Current judges are Bao Ong, restaurant columnist for the Houston Chronicle, co-owner/pitmaster Will Buckman of CorkScrew BBQ in Spring, barbecue photographer Robert J. Lerma, and owner/pitmaster Wayne Mueller of Louie Mueller Barbecue in Taylor, and chef Michelle Wallace of B'tween Sandwich Co. There will also be a “People’s Choice” award in which guests can vote for their favorite dish.
